Document Transcription & Translation

Find your Italian ancestors. Claim your roots

Send us a record and receive it back — faithfully transcribed, translated into English, and explained. A birth, marriage or death act; a page from a parish register; a ship’s manifest. We turn the old handwriting, the archaic terms and the abbreviations into something you can read and actually use for your family history or your citizenship file.

See exactly what you receive

Below is a real 1809 birth record — transcribed, translated and explained, term by term. It is the same kind of deliverable you would receive for your own document.

Want to see how a record is read, line by line? Walk through a real 1893 birth act in How to Read an Italian Birth Record.

How it works

  1. Send your document. Upload a clear photo or scan (PDF, JPG or PNG) using the form below, with a short note about what you already know.
  2. We read it. I personally transcribe the record, translate it into English, and explain the period terms and abbreviations — no automatic guesswork.
  3. You receive it. A clean, documented PDF like the sample above, usually within a few working days.

What it costs

  • Standard record (one handwritten page): €30.
  • Older or difficult hand (pre–1860, faded or Latin): €45–60.
  • Package of 5 documents: 15% off.

Prices are indicative. You always receive a fixed quote before any work begins, and a short sample can be provided first.

Send your document

Your file arrives directly and privately in our inbox. Only image and document files are accepted, your records are treated confidentially, and you can ask to have them deleted once the work is done.
