About the Genealogist

Find your Italian ancestors. Claim your roots

Clemente Suardi is a professional genealogist with more than 25 years’ experience in reconstructing family histories. Working as an independent professional, he has served both private clients and companies, law firms and notaries in Italy and abroad, and he is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (United States). He researches across every Italian region — from the Alps to Sicily — and in neighbouring Switzerland, directly from original civil, parish (including Latin) and notarial records, and reports his findings clearly in English.

His work spans documented family-history research; Italian citizenship by descent (jure sanguinis); transcription and translation of historical records; and property, cadastral, forensic and heir research. Alongside client work he has taught family-history courses and lectured at educational seminars. Over the years he has completed more than 500 family-history research projects — each documented act by act, every fact drawn from a source and cited.
